Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students

The Italian Government awards scholarships for studying in Italy both to foreign citizens and Italian citizens resident abroad (IRE).  The scholarships are offered for the following type of courses: Undergraduate University courses (renewals only); Postgraduate University courses; Master’s Degree courses (Levels I or II); Ph.D. Courses; Specialisation Schools; Research under academic supervision; Courses of Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance (AFAM); Advanced Courses on Italian language and culture Courses for Teachers of Italian as second language.
Host Institution(s):
Scholarships can be awarded only for study/ research projects at institutions within the Italian public education and research system.
Field(s) of Study:
Eligible field(s) of study offered by participating Italian Universities.
Target Group:
Students from countries included in the Recipient Country List.
Scholarship value/duration:
The scholarship duration can be three, six, or nine months. Only for courses for teachers of Italian language the scholarship duration is one month.
Normally, the scholarship holders are exempt from the payment of the university tuition fees, in accordance with existing regulations. However the Universities, as part of their autonomy, may not allow such exemption. Candidates are therefore recommended to contact the chosen Institution in order to be informed on eventual taxes or tuition fees.
For the sole period of the scholarships granted by the Italian Government, the scholarship-holders are covered by an insurance policy against illness and/or accident. Air tickets are not granted, except for Chilean citizens.
Detailed information regarding the scholarship offer, can be requested to the Italian Embassy or Italian Cultural Institute in the applicant’s country of citizenship.
Eligibility:
A. Educational qualification required by the chosen institution  (See Section III of the call for applications)
B. Knowledge of Italian Language:  candidates must possess a certificate of intermediate level in Italian (e.g. CILS B2, CELI 3, PLIDA B2 or INT.IT Roma Tre) or equivalent linguistic proficiency issued by a local organization or language school (e.g. Italian Cultural Institute, Dante Alighieri Society branch etc.). Applicants for enrolment in Advanced Courses on Italian language and culture must have at least an A2 level proficiency in Italian.
Italian language knowledge is not required for applicants who enroll for university courses held entirely in English.
C. Age limits:  candidates who are younger than 18 y. o. (born not after 15 April 1998) or older than 35 y. o. (born not before 15 April 1981) on the day of the deadline for the submission of the applications, are not eligible. Candidates for Courses for teachers of Italian as second language (see above, section III, letter I) are eligible until they are 45 y. o. (born not before 15 April 1971) on the day of the deadline for the submission of the applications.
D. Restrictions: Students enrolled in a year exceeding the legal duration of the course of study (the so-called “fuori corso”) are not eligible for scholarships.

Description of Duties
  • Working under the overall leadership of the WR/Nigeria and the direct supervision of the DPC Adviser, the National Professional Officer, Non-Communicable Diseases/Conditions (NCD) will serve as the focal person for NCDs under the Disease Prevention and Control (DPC) Cluster of the WHO Country Office in Nigeria. Specifically, the post holder will:
  • Support the Ministry of Health to develop and implement comprehensive and integrated policies and strategies for the management of the main chronic non-communicable diseases and their risk factors: cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, oral health, chronic respiratory diseases and sickle cell diseases;
  • Provide technical support for the development of guidelines to promote use of community-based approaches, affordable strategies and technologies for the delivery of quality care services including primary, secondary and tertiary prevention;
  • Provide technical assistance to the country for the prevention and control of NCDs and their risk factors integrated into national health policies and strategies, and, beyond the health sector;
  • Support the country capacity building and provide technical assistance and advice to the Ministry of Health and its partners to develop, implement and evaluate strategies and action plans for the prevention and control of NCDs in line with the NCDs Global Action Plan 2013-2020;
  • Forge partnerships and networks to enhance multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral collaboration to address NCDs and their risk factors in the country;
  • Contribute to resource mobilization for WCO technical support to the country using existing mechanisms at country level;
  • Support data collection, research and information dissemination and use for policy and programme development, advocacy and awareness-raising on NCDs and their risk factors;
  • Work closely with the national authorities and other partners, and liaise with WHO technical staff in the Regional Office

Project Description
  • The Humanitarian portfolio covers the emergency response to the needs of conflict affected populations in north east Nigeria and we operate across three states with funding sources (including but not limited to O.F.D.A., F.F.P., E.C.H.O. and the E.U.,) with multi-sector interventions in food security, livelihoods, protection, W.A.S.H. among others. You be expected to engage in the development and editing of reports and learning documents.
  • Our porfolio covers work across the middle belt of Nigeria and is looking to expand into the Northeast. Historically our portfolio has focused on cross-communal conflicts emerging from lack of institutional arraignments to manage the limited resources across the region. Our conflict programs are funded by the British Government, USAID, Department of State and foundations.
Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the elements of a quality donor report and be able to produce and edit reports that meet these requirements
  • Gain competence in managing data collection systems for humanitarian and conflict programs
  • Improve research skills
  • Gain a deeper understanding of conflict and humanitarian programming in Nigeria, and of international nonprofit work
  • Improve ability to communicate cross-culturally
Deliverables:
  • Support the editing and production of internal and external reports for the management teams
  • Work with program staff to complete an analysis of data quality and management systems and improve the management of these systems.
  • Complete research projects, as requested.
  • Support proposal writing, as requested.
Requirement
You should possess the following qualification:
  • Graduate Degree in Communications, International Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Economics or related degrees.

The Transfer Pricing Consultant will assist in ensuring the application of global transfer pricing rules and concepts in order to achieve the best solutions, and meet clients’ objectives.   • Good logical reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Sound writing, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computer packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project Office, Access, etc. Very good use of PowerPoint and Excel is a strong advantage
  • Proficiency in the use of Transfer Pricing software
  • Membership of ICAN, ACCA or CITN would be an added advantage
