2016 Nigerian Airforce Recruitment Exercise

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Nationality: Applicant must be of Nigerian origin.
Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 22 years for non-tradesmen/women, 17 and 24 years for tradesmen/women by 31 December 2016. Those applying as drivers must be between the ages of 18 and 28 years by 31 December 2016
Marital Status: All applicants must be single.
Height: Minimum height is 1.68 meters or 5.5ft for males and 1.65m or 5.4ft for females.
Medical Fitness: All applicants must be medically fit and meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
Non-Tradesmen/women: Applicants must possess a minimum of 3 credits including Mathematics and English Language in SSCE/NECO/GCE obtained not later than 6 years to this exercise. In addition, applicants are also required to possess their school's testimonials.
Tradesmen/women: Applicants must possess OND, NABTEB, RN/RM or City & Guild Certificate. Candidate with only Trade Test Certificate are required to also have a minimum of 3 passes in GCE/SSCE/NECO including English. In addition, applicants applying as tradesmen/tradeswomen must possess ND (with minimum of Lower Credit) or other relevant trade qualification from government-approved institutions. Note that applicants with HND or First Degrees/Post-Graduate Certificates, University Diplomas and Grade II Teacher's certificates will not be considered for recruitment as airmen/airwomen into the Nigerian Air Force and should not apply.
Attestation Forms: Applicant's attestation form must be signed by a military officer from the same state as the applicant and not below the rank of Squadron Leader or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy, and Police Officer of the rank of Assistant CP and above. Local Governments Chairmen/Secretaries, magistrates and principals of government Secondary Schools from applicants' state of origin can also sign the attestation forms. The signees passport photograph and either photocopy of drivers licence or international passport must be attached. In addition, applicants are to bring with them a letter of attestation of good character from any of the officers above to the Zonal Recruitment Centers and final selection interview.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
Applicants will be required to submit for scrutiny, the original copies of the documents at the recruitment centers and during the final selection interview. Applicants will be required to present following documents if selected for the zonal recruitment test:

Two recent passport size photographs to be stamped and countersigned by officer of appropriate rank specified, Local Government Chairmen/Secretaries and other specified officers in Paragraph 8.
Photocopies of:
Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age (Any age declaration done later than 4 years to this exercise will not be acceptable).
Educational/Trade Certificates.
Indigenship certificate from applicant's State of Origin.
Any applicant suspected to have impersonated or submitted false document(s) shall be disqualified from the selection exercise. Also, any false declaration detected later may lead to withdrawal from training. Such applicants may be handed over to the Police for prosecution. The Nigerian Air Force will not entertain any enquiries in respect of applicants whose applications have been rejected. Purpose of Job Role
Responsible for the financial and operational and delivery performance of the Operations Assurance and Broadcast Operations assignments within a Managed Services Deal. Responsible to manage the applicable WLAs and OLAs with delivery organizations, manage the delivery of operations, ensuring that operations delivery is fulfilling the contracted Service Level Agreement (SLA) and to serve as the primary escalation point for critical incident, Broadcast Delivery Operations escalations, and performance reporting towards the customer.
Responsibilities:
 The IP / EPC expert is responsible for securing the operations activities and performs his / her responsibilities according to the following points.

1. Daily EPC Network alarm monitoring & fault troubleshooting
2. Daily core alarm & availability reports
3. Daily, weekly & monthly performance reports
4. End to End operational & maintenance support for SGSN, GGSN & EPC nodes (MME, EPG, DNS, NTP, Router, switch & Firewall)
5. Interfaces with networks operation monitoring team during core network related faults
6. Responsible for raising CSRs and liaises with 2nd level support team during network fault incidents.
7. Responsible for acceptance testing of all SGSN, GGSN and EPC nodes integrated into the network
8. Implements IP/ Core network related change requests 
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of relevant Experience
  • A first Academic Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Expert knowledge of LTE/EPC network architecture including VOLTE.
  • Expert knowledge of SGSN / GGSN nodes.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP based architecture and call flows, 3GPP/IETF standards, UEs and tools used in the implementation and operation of SGSN /MME or SGSN/GGSN network elements.
  • Expertise in developing and executing object lists for testing core elements using protocol analysers –MME, SGSN, GGSN & EPC.
  • In-depth knowledge and strong experience with Ericsson EPG, MME, SGSN, GGSN node CLI.
  • Knowledge of protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, SCTP, S1AP, Diameter, GTP, M3UA, SCCP, RANAP, GMM, SM) and high level understanding of OSPF, MPLS, VRRP, SSH, SNMP, and L2 VLAN).
  • Specific experience testing network functions to include paging, intra and inter technology mobility, session management, and QOS.
  • Hands on experience integrating network hardware platforms including SGSN,GGSN, EPG and MME elements.

NDA 68th Regular Course Admission Requirements

The requirements for various undergraduate degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website / applications portal, as well as in the JAMB Brochure and website. All other information concerning degree courses, eligibility and examination centres are as contained in the NDA website / applications portal.

1. To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy, a candidate must have the following:
  • Minimum of 5 Credit passes at SSCE (WAEC or NECO) or GCE O/L obtained in not more than 2 sittings relevant to the Faculty of their choices.
  •  Credit in English Language and Mathematics.
  • At least one supporting relevant credit to the compulsory credits in faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Science. However, only one supporting relevant credit is required in the Faculty of Engineering.
  • Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old at the time of entry into the Academy. Note that Nigerian Airforce candidates must be between 17 and 18years old at entry.
  • Must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male and 1.50 metres for female.
  • Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.
  • Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.
  • Present a Certificate of Origin obtained from a Local Government Area and a Certificate of State indigene ship from the Office of the State Governor is desirable.
2. Furthermore, candidates are to note the following:
  • Awaiting results are not qualified. Results not submitted with the application for will not be accepted.
  • Only examination results of 5 years from date will be accepted.
  • Currently, admission into the academy is for both male and female Nigerians only.

NDA 68th Regular Course Method of Application.

Candidates should logon to the application portal www.ndaapplications.net. select “Purchase Access Code” and fill in their details to pay for their application via REMITA after first obtaining their ORDER ID and REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code in the sum of N3,000.00 only. Please note that only payment against RRR Codes generated via the application portal would be accepted.
Interested candidates are advised to go online and complete the application on the websites indicated above. Please download and read carefully, the Instructions provided on the website. Applicants applying for admission into NDA MUST also apply to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), but may not necessarily select NDA as their choice of university. Such applicants are expected to sit for the JAMB Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applications should be submitted online. On completion of the online application, candidates are to download an Acknowledgement Form. Upon release of the JAMB results, candidates should return to the applications portal and download their Examination Admission Card. Only candidates who make the JAMB national cut-off mark will be allowed to participate in the NDA Entrance Examination.

EXAMINATION CONDITIONS
Only candidates who meet the JAMB national cutoff mark will be eligible to sit for the NDA Entrance Examination at their Examination Centre of choice.
The examination will be conducted as an Entrance Examination (similar to Post-UTME examination in conventional universities), and is scheduled to hold on Saturday 23 April 2016. Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Examination Centre on the examination date. The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back. Only successful candidates at the NDA Entrance Examination will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.
NATURE AND DURATION OF TRAINING
Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA). They will equally earn a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
ADMINISTRATION
Regular Course cadets will train in NDA. All aspects of the cadets’ administration and logistics will be borne by the Federal Government.

In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers at a token fee to interested candidates. This can be purchased from the Registry Department, NDA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilities Project Management. Ensures the effective relocation of staff and space management process.
  • Maintaining office equipment and facilities; arrange for repairs when necessary. Make recommendations for new or additional office equipment as appropriate.
  • Initiating planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment and preventive maintenance of facility equipment
  • Maintenance of staff house/kitchen; making sure appropriate items are in the staff house and kitchen.
  • Installs, moves, repairs, and removes equipment and utilities within the building.
  • Supervises the maintenance or repairs of office equipment and facilities; procurement of office equipment, asset management and shipping of procured company equipment.
  • Management of company fleet; car maintenance analysis and Driver’s rotation sheet
  • Overall responsibility for the supervision of all company domestic staff, oversee cleaning and maintenance of the office facility; parking program etc.
  • Ensures strict adherence to company procedures on facilities management, asset management, and procurement activities. Gets approved vendors from QA/QC Coordinator for all purchases.
  • Responsible for property survey and Facilities inspection; Facilities Inventories, Documentation and Records.
  • Coordinate the supply and distribution of utilities, diesel, water; repairs and maintenance of company staff house & head office.
  • Provide administrative assistance to company management and other officers as required.
  • Part of Facilities & Services Department team
  • Performs other duties or projects as required or as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A good university first degree or journeyman experience is required.
  • A minimum of 0-2 years experience

  • At least 3 years of related work experience. Previous experience in purchasing is an added advantage
